BUILDING ON THE CORNERSTONE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

In 2003, after purchasing 48 acres of property off Hamilton Road, we completed building Trinity Lutheran School with dreams of one day uniting the church and school on this site. Building On THE Cornerstone, our first capital campaign, began in 2018, to raise funds toward Phase One of this project.

THE VISION

As our ministries have adapted to a changing culture, our current facilities have not. Since our school opened on Hamilton Road in 2003, our resources have been divided between two campuses. This division limits our community’s chance to collaborate as a staff and faith family. Our students miss out on the gift of chapel held in an actual sanctuary. Additionally, we have a growing need for larger gathering space, for a nursery, cry room, and nursing space that better supports young families in worship, and restrooms more accessibly located on the main level.

As the people of Trinity Lutheran we are called to share the forgiveness and love of the resurrected Christ and make disciples. With Christ as our cornerstone, each time the members of our congregation were called upon to rebuild or build our sanctuary they have responded with overwhelming generosity.

Our current sanctuary home has given us so many memorable moments for our family in Christ, however, it is now time for us to build a new worship space for future generations.

No matter where God places a cornerstone for Trinity Lutheran, the words of the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 2:20 provide an important reminder, “Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.”

CORNERSTONE CAMPAIGN TIMELINE

  • February 2017, the Trinity Lutheran congregation voted to relocate our worship facility to the Hamilton Road property.

  • May 2017, Congregation president, Brett Bloebaum, announced the formation of a Building Committee for the new sanctuary at the Hamilton Road campus. This committee was tasked with identifying our congregational needs and determining potential architectural candidates.

  • March 2018, the Building Committee conducted interviews with four contractor/architect partnerships to lead and assist Trinity Lutheran through the Master Planning and Construction of the new church facility.  After review of the interviews, conversations within the committee and time spent in prayer, the building committee was able to narrow down the best possible partnership to work with Trinity Lutheran.

  • During a special Voters meeting held on May 6, 2018 the congregation approved a contractor/architect partnership recommended by the Building Committee and the Steier Group to lead Trinity in its fundraising efforts, later to be named “Building on THE Cornerstone”.

  • August 2018, the Steier Group projected that during an initial Capital Campaign, the church could reasonably anticipate raising between $2.5 and $4 million to fund the first phase of the Building Project. Since the anticipated cost of Phase One was projected to be $9.7-10.2 million, an additional Capital Campaign would be a possibility to continue the retirement of debt.

  • September 2018 our Building on THE Cornerstone Capital Campaign commenced. During the regular Voters meeting the Building Committee presented their progress to this point.  The items presented were an overview of the potential Master Site Plan of the Hamilton Road Site and also the anticipated First Building Phase.

  • During the regular May 2019 Voters meeting, Trinity congregation approved the engagement of PJ Hoerr Construction and BLDD Architects. The building committee began developing a budget and finance plan to present to the congregation at the September Voters meeting. Open forums were held prior to that on July 22.

  • October 2019, the congregation in a special Voters meeting, authorized a budget of $10.75 million for construction, relocation expenses, and any other expenses which may need to be incurred for occupancy of the building.

  • The Building on THE Cornerstone Campaign is scheduled to conclude February 2022.

  • In April of 2021 the congregation voted to engage James D. Klote & Associates to manage a second capital campaign to raise funds for the Hamilton Road building project with a goal of remaining debt free.

  • Work began on our second capital campaign, Immeasurably More, in May of 2021 and officially launched September 26th, 2021 at our Trinity Family Reunion and Immeasurably More Campaign Kick-off.
