THE BIG GIVE – SHARING THANKSGIVING BLESSINGS
Each year, Home Sweet Home Ministries, Midwest Food Bank, and Thrivent Financial join together for the Big Give, an opportunity to provide Thanksgiving meals for neighbors in need. With the support of our community, more than 2,000 families were blessed with meal boxes last year—and with your help, we can do it again!
This year’s collection dates are September 21–28. Simply shop for the listed non-perishable items and drop them off in the boxes located in the church narthex.
Update on Hy-Vee Participation in the Big Give
We’re excited to share that Hy-Vee is participating in the Big Give this year! You can support Midwest Food Bank and Home Sweet Home Ministries in the following ways at Hy-Vee:
Turkey Coupons – Purchase a coupon for a frozen turkey at checkout.
Dry Goods Cases – Purchase cases of dry goods, and Hy-Vee will hold and Midwest Food Bank will pick them up. Case pricing can be found HERE >>
(If you prefer, you may still shop at Hy-Vee or any other store and bring your items to the church for collection.)
Thank you for your generosity as we work together to bless families in need this holiday season!
In addition to meal items, monetary gifts may be made to provide turkeys. Checks may be mailed to Home Sweet Home Ministries (303 E. Oakland Ave, Bloomington, IL 61701) or Midwest Food Bank (2031 Warehouse Road, Normal, IL 61761). Please write “Big Give” in the memo line. Online donations to Home Sweet Home can also be made by using this LINK >>.
Meal boxes will be packed on November 18 and 20 and distributed on November 22. Volunteer opportunities will be available HERE >>
