The Senior Pastor Call Committee was formed in response to Pastor Wirsing’s retirement announcement.  Our church Bylaws charge our committee with bringing a slate of candidates to the Voters Assembly to enable our congregation to vote to issue a call for our next Senior Pastor, effective upon Pastor Wirsing’s retirement at the end of February 2019.

The Senior Pastor Call Committee was formed in May 2018.

  • Our committee was officially appointed in April and first met in May.

  • We solicited names from the congregation and Executive Ministry staff for a six-week period ending July 8.

  • We shared names with the Central Illinois District – LCMS (CID) at the end of July.

  • CID provided pastoral information to us by mid-August.

  • Our committee spent considerable time evaluating candidates for interview selection purposes.

  • Our committee hopes to complete initial candidate interviews by late October or early November.

  • Our committee may then pursue on-site visits of some candidates.

  • Our committee has finalized its recommendations and candidates will be brought to the Special Voters Assembly on January 27 to enable our congregation to vote to issue a call for Trinity’s next Senior Pastor.
