Mr. Shawn Hoffmann . . . Principal
Shawn Hoffmann is a 1995 graduate of Concordia
University in River Forest. He has served as administrator at Trinity
since 2004. Previous to being principal he taught 5th-8th grade
science. Trinity is Shawn's first Call and he is so very thankful
for the opportunity to serve here among some of the greatest parents,
faculty, and staff he has ever met. To God be the Glory!

Mrs. Cindy Guetschow . . . Administrative
Assistant
Cindy Guetschow grew up in Minonk and graduated
from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1978 with a degree in English.
She worked for 15 years in the Advertising Department of the Pantagraph
before coming to Trinity in 1993 as Administrative Assistant. She
and her husband, Bill, live in Bloomington and have 2 grown daughters.

Mr. Kurt Busse . . . 8th Grade/Athletic Director
Kurt Busse was born and raised in the heart of
Lutheran country just south of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Kurt has attended
or taught in only Lutheran schools. He received his B.S. in Education
from Concordia, Nebraska in 1982 and his M.A. in Administration
from Concordia, Chicago in 1990. Kurt teaches Jr. high math and
physical education. He also serves as Athletic Director and coaches
cross country, varsity boys basketball, and track. Kurt and his
wife Laura have served together at Trinity since 1995. They have
two children, both attending college. He thanks the Lord for the
opportunity to serve with such dedicated staff, supportive parents
and wonderful students. To God be the glory.

Ms. Donna Smith . . . 7th Grade/Assistant
Principal
Donna Smith is a graduate of Concordia College,
Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has taught grades third through eighth.
For most of her teaching career she has served in the junior high
grades teaching science and social studies. Presently she is serving
as eighth grade homeroom teacher, science teacher for sixth through
eighth, and assistant principal.

Mrs. Jan Wirsing . . . 7th Grade
Jan Wirsing is a seventh grade homeroom teacher
specializing in upper grade language arts. A graduate of Concordia
University, River Forest, IL, she holds a Master of Arts degree
in Education from Eastern Michigan University and a Master in Science
degree in English from Illinois State University. She and her husband,
Pastor Tom, have been blessed with a son and daughter. She enjoys
learning from her students every day.

Mrs. Heather Nitzel . . . 6th Grade
Heather Nitzel graduated from Concordia University-
St. Paul, MN in 2002 with a K-8 Elementary/Middle School Language
Arts undergraduate degree and graduated from Fontbonne University-
St. Louis in 2004 with a graduate degree in Education- Curriculum
and Instruction. At Trinity, Heather teaches junior high language
arts, where she can share her love of reading! She enjoys family
time with husband Chris and two sons: Aiden and Josiah. Besides
reading, she loves to scrapbook, travel, and cook/bake. She feels
blessed to be serving at Trinity!

Mr. Dan Bell . . . 6th Grade
Dan Bell is a 2008 graduate of Concordia University
Wisconsin, where he received his Bachelor's degree in Secondary
Education with a concentration in History. Dan and his wife Leslie,
who teaches 3rd Grade at Good Shepherd Lutheran in Pekin, recently
welcomed their first child, a beautiful baby girl named Cameron.
Dan enjoys movies, playing and watching sports, and music. Trinity
is Dan's first call, and he is looking forward to teaching Jr. High
Social Studies.

Mrs. Kathy Bahn . . . 5th Grade
Kathy Bahn graduated from Concordia University
Irvine CA in 1988. She taught 2nd grade for three years at Zion
Lutheran, Fallbrook, CA. She married and moved to El Cajon, CA in
1991 and taught 6th grade at First Lutheran School in La Mesa, CA
and 4th grade at Prince of Peace Lutheran School in Anaheim, CA.
She moved again with her husband, Chuck, to Bloomington IL. She
spent time raising three children before returning to full time
teaching at Trinity Lutheran School where she currently is teaching
Jr. High Social Studies.

Mrs. Julie Hoffmann . . . 5th Grade
Julie Hoffmann is a fifth grade teacher at Trinity
Lutheran School in Bloomington, Illinois. Julie graduated from Concordia
University in River Forest, Illinois, in 1999 with a degree in Secondary
Education. She has a loving husband Shawn and three wonderful and
active children. Julie feels that teaching fifth graders is a true
gift from the Lord.

Mrs. Deb Weaver . . . 4th Grade
Deb Weaver has taught grades three through six,
but currently is a fourth grade teacher at Trinity Lutheran School
in Bloomington, IL. She graduated from Concordia University, Chicago
with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education & a received
her master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Illinois
State University. She is blessed with a husband & 2 daughters,
who bring many joys to her life.

Ms. Linda Heidloff is a 1977 graduate of Concordia
Teachers College, River Forest, Illinois. She has taught at Trinity
since 1984.

Mrs. Linda Brockett . . . 3rd Grade
Linda Brockett is a 1981 graduate of Concordia
College in River Forest, IL, with an Elementary Education/Early
Childhood degree. Mrs. Brockett has taught second, third, and fifth
grade. She has been a member of Trinity Lutheran School faculty
since 1989 and currently teaches third grade. Linda , her husband
Ron , and daughter Cheyenne reside in Le Roy, Illinois.

Mrs. Jill Peters . . . 3rd Grade
Jill Peters had taught third grade at Trinity
Lutheran School Bloomington, IL since graduating in 2007 from Concordia
University River Forest. She and her husband John live outside of
Atlanta, IL.

Ms. Sara Pittman . . . 2nd Grade
Sara Pittman is a 1994 graduate of Concordia
University Wisconsin, with an Elementary Education/Early Childhood
degree. She received her Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction
of Reading from Illinois State University in 2007. Ms. Pittman has
taught kindergarten, first, and second grade. She has been a dedicated
member of Trinity Lutheran School faculty since 1996 and currently
teaches second grade.

Mrs. Melissa Rock . . . 2nd Grade
Melissa Rock is a 1987 graduate of Concordia
University, Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary
Education with a concentration in physical education. She graduated
from Eastern Illinois University with a Master's Degree in Elementary
Education in 1994. She has taught fifth, third and second grade
at schools in Illinois and Nebraska. She is presently teaching second
grade at Trinity Lutheran School. She is married to Steve.

Ms. Gretchen Buhrke . . . 1st Grade
Gretchen Buhrke is a first grade teacher at Trinity
Lutheran School in Bloomington, Illinois. Gretchen graduated from
Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois, in 2002 with a degree
in Elementary Education and received her Master's in Reading from
Illinois State University in 2007. She has a loving husband Brad
and they live in Lexington, Illinois. Gretchen wants to thank God
for the gift of first graders because they are a joy to teach.

Ms. Andrea Winter . . . 1st Grade
Andrea Winter graduated from Concordia University
in River Forest, Illinois with a bachelor's degree in elementary
education and with a concentration in psychology. Andrea has taught
first grade at Trinity Lutheran School in Bloomington, Illinois
since 2005. Andrea enjoys teaching and coaching varsity volleyball
at Trinity!

Mrs. Laura Busse . . . Kindergarten/ECE Director
Laura Busse is the Half-Day Kindergarten teacher
and Early Childhood Director at Trinity. She works with the best
early childhood team she knows. The team of six dedicated teachers
each has a true heart and spirit for educating the young child.
Laura graduated from Concordia University, Nebraska, twice, the
first time in 1984, with a BS in Education and the second time in
2006 with a Masters in Early Childhood Education/ Administration.
Besides teaching and directing Laura is an adjunct instructor for
Concordia, Nebraska in their early childhood graduate program. She
also has the opportunity to work with her husband Kurt, who is a
junior high teacher and athletic director at Trinity. They have
two children Jordan of Elon, North Carolina and Jessica of Seward,
Nebraska.

Mrs. Gayle Dietsch . . . Kindergarten
Gayle Dietsch graduated from Concordia University
Nebraska in December 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary
Education and an Early Childhood endorsement. Along with teaching
full day kindergarten she coaches some athletics. She is active
in her church hand bell choir and in Bible study.

Mrs. Jan Wohlers . . . Kindergarten
Jan Wohlers received her Associates Degree in
1972 from Concordia College in Concordia, Mo and received her Bachelor's
Degree in Elementary Education from Concordia Teacher's College
in 1974. She has taught pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. Jan
and her husband Doug live in Danvers, IL. They have two sons.

Mrs. Becky Griffin . . . Pre-Kindergarten/5th
Grade Aide
Becky Griffin is a 1986 graduate of Illinois
Wesleyan University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.
She is married and husband Tony is a teacher in Heyworth. They have
3 daughters. She is currently the 5 day Pre Kindergarten teacher.
She is a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated
from Trinity Lutheran School in 1978.

Donna Mikesell graduated from Illinois State
University with B.S. in Ed in 1981. She received Colloquy from Concordia
Chicago in 1992. Donna began teaching at Trinity Lutheran in Bloomington
in 1982.

Lana Blair is a graduate of Illinois State University
and holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She has taught
third grade, kindergarten, pre-kindergarten, and currently teaches
preschool.

Mrs. Nancy Fuemmeler . . . Music
Mrs. Nancy Fuemmeler teaches general vocal music
for grades K-8. She also conducts the Sonshine Choir and the Junior
High Choir. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia
with a B. S. in Music Education, K-12 and Illinois State University
with a M. of Music Ed. Mrs. Fuemmeler has taught music in Columbia,
MO Public Schools, Lafayette School Corporation in Lafayette, IN,
and Trinity Lutheran School since 1994. She is married to Kirk.
They have two daughters, Sarah and Leah.

Mrs. Judy Vasel . . . Band
Judy Vasel has served as the instrumental music
teacher at Trinity since the fall 1994. She directs the Beginning,
Intermediate, and Advanced Bands, as well as the Jazz Band, and
teaches weekly instrument lessons to the students in the program.
A graduate of Eastern Illinois University, she first taught in the
Toluca Community School District (1979 - 1985), where she directed
the Junior and Senior High bands, choirs, and drama productions.
She later taught private piano lessons before coming to Trinity.
She is the wife of Mark Vasel, and mother of Katie, Amy, and Meagan.
She is a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she serves
as director of the Adult Choir.

Michelle Garcia is a graduate of Emporia State
University. She has taught a variety of special education classes
at all grade levels. She is currently the Key Team Coordinator and
wants everyone to know what a blessing it is to work at Trinity.

Toni Boomgarden . . . Speech and Language
Toni graduated from ISU in December 2010 with
her Master's degree in Speech Pathology. Since then she has worked
at LCSSU with kids in grades K-6. Prior to returning to school,
she was a nurse and a mom. She and her husband just celebrated their
20th anniversary, and they are so blessed to have 2 kids at Trinity.
Her goal for returning to school was to empower kids with a voice
to communicate.

Mrs. Stephanie Davingman . . . LCFS Counselor
Stephanie Davingman, CADC, LCSW, LMFT, is a
licensed clinical social worker and marriage and family therapist
with a Type 73 certificate indicating experience working with children
and families in a school setting. She is an employee of Lutheran
Child and Family Services (LCFS) and through the contract Trinity
has with LCFS has provided school-based counseling services since
2000. Services consist of classroom guidance on topics such as social
skills, individual sessions to help students deal with issues at
school and home, family sessions with siblings to improve sibling
relationships, and group services as needed. Stephanie also is part
of the KEY team at Trinity, which is a group of staff who help students
with learning difficulties to meet their educational needs.
