Vision for Africa

Vision for Africa is a group of US churches who partner with congregations in Kenya to try to help the Kenyan congregation grow through an ongoing relationship and evangelistic program.

Here at Trinity Lutheran we make an impact through vision clinics. Our model is to jointly sponsor health clinics that draw large crowds to various sites in Kenya, each client entering the clinic receives both treatment for his eyes and the gospel message.  Thousands receive quality eye care, and many receive Christ as their Savior during a 4 day clinic.   As a country, Kenya has only approximately 60 ophthalmologists nationwide, and so eye care is a huge national issue.  Kenya’s Ministry of Health has identified Vision for Africa’s “eye camps” as one of their national strategies to eliminate preventable blindness by the year 2020.

If you would like to join us in our efforts to share the gospel and bring healing to those in need, fill out a registration form and we will be in contact with you and make you a part of our team.  (You don’t have to be a member of Trinity Lutheran)

We normally travel to Kenya the 1st week of June.

Hearts for Honduras

Heart for Honduras by God's grace, conducts a mission trip every January.

Area residents, notified via local radio announcements and word of mouth prior to our arrival, are invited to attend the clinics. Honduras’s poverty forces people to delay and/or ignore much-needed vision care. Many travel considerable distances and endure long lines to see us.

Evangelism: during the day while the clinics are functioning, the ministry team partners with local pastors to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ to those gathered in line. Local pastors follow up with these new converts after our teams leave and invite them to participate in their congregations.
