Music

"Music is one of the fairest and most glorious gifts of God." - Martin Luther

At Trinity Lutheran School, we strive to instill a love for music in each student. The music education program is designed to give students the skills they need to be active music participants for life. All music classes are taught by certified educators.

Students in grades K-5 have general music classes twice per week in which they sing, move to music, play instruments, and develop music reading and writing skills. The Sonshine Choir is for third, fourth, and fifth graders who desire to participate in a music enrichment activity.

Students in grades 6-8 have choir twice per week. They may choose to sing in small ensembles and prepare solos for performance in Trinity's Vocal Festival in the spring. Students also have the opportunity to audition for the Illinois Music Educators' Association District III Honor Choir.

Both school choirs sing for school chapel services and worship services at Trinity Lutheran Church. The choirs can also be heard at various events in the community.
