Bible Study Opportunities

At Trinity our hope is that adults will participate in Bible studies while the children are part of Spot L.I.G.H.T. on Sunday mornings. With this goal in mind, we offer two education hours on Sunday mornings at 8:15 and 9:30.

Adult studies are scheduled on a 12-week cycle with a Sunday for fellowship in between each quarter. The opportunities offered are varied and range from books of the Bible to parenting and family classes.

Anyone can join in any study at any time. There is no need for you to wait until new studies begin. In addition to being blessed by the study itself, you will be blessed by getting to know many other wonderful people.

At various times during the year there are special offerings of classes and workshops. These are publicized through the Cross Currents on Sunday mornings and as well as the monthly Messenger. In addition to Sunday mornings, there are various studies available during the week at different times and locations.

8:15 Class

Our Lord's Prayer

Leader: Pastors

Overall Theme: Our Lord Still Teaches Us to Pray

Our Lord Jesus first taught His people His prayer two thousand years ago. We believe it has never been more relevant to the needs of God’s people than it is today. We will look at the nine sections of the Lord’s Prayer. As we do so over a twelve-week period, we will dig around in the Scriptures, looking into the lives of real people of God as they talked to Him in prayer and as they received good things from Him—many times, even before they asked. Together we will be refreshed by God’s care for us and the truth that He has always been more ready to give than we are to ask.

Goals of this study:

  • Appreciate Jesus’ gift of The Lord’s Prayer
  • Realize the relevance of Jesus’ 2,000 year old gift
  • Recognize ourselves and our own life-situations in different Bible characters we meet along the way.

Not Too Busy To Pray

Leader: Chuck Bahn, DCE

Throughout the Prayer Emphasis, “Lord, Teach Us to Pray”, we have heard of the many blessings of prayer. There are also challenges to having time to pray and experiencing the benefits of ongoing and consistent prayer. This class will help us address some of the challenges we have in our fast paced culture of developing the habit of prayer. We will also have opportunities to experience ways we can incorporate prayer into our lives.

Goals of this study:

  • Look at our own lives to see how “life” might be crowding out our praying relationship with God.
  • Determine ways we can bring the power of prayer into the various aspects of our lives.
  • Practice prayer in our own lives to find more consistent ways in which we can pray.
  • To continue to grow in a life long journey of prayer.
